NANNING (China), Sept 16 (Bernama) -- China’s leading artificial intelligence (AI) solutions provider, Runjian Co Ltd, has praised the Malaysian government’s support for artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives and its investment in the two data centres it is operating in the country.

Its vice president, Athena Zhao, said Runjian participated in the construction of the two data centres in Johor Bahru and Cyberjaya. “We provide services for data centres for famous corporations, including YTL Corporation,” she told China International Press Communication Centre  (CIPCC) Asia Pacific participants who visited Runjian’s headquarters here on Tuesday.

Zhao said Runjian is now focusing on ASEAN because the region is very close to China, “with many good visits and good relations.”  She added that ASEAN is full of vitality, especially Malaysia, which has already become a foreign investment hot spot. Compared with other countries, Malaysia's investment environment is more friendly, she said.

Runjian has already established subsidiaries in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines, she added. They focus on renewable energy, data centre and AI application, providing localised solutions for ASEAN customers. Runjian’s overseas business is developing rapidly, according to Zhao.

During the briefing to CIPCC participants, she said two universities in Malaysia with which Runjian cooperate in industry-university research are Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

Meanwhile, the China-ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Collaborative Innovation Centre (CAAIC), during its briefing to CIPCC participants, said Malaysia is taking the lead among ASEAN countries in the master plan of the China-ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Collaborative Innovation Centre.
