KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 (Bernama) -- The ASEAN Supply Chain Coordination Council (ASCCC),  established today under the ASEAN Manufacturing Network, aims to strengthen regional collaboration across various industries to enhance supply chain efficiency and resilience.

ASEAN-Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) Malaysia chairman Tan Sri Nazir Razak said the council will be co-chaired with the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM).

“I think this is an important new platform because we have representatives from all industries, from textiles to semiconductors.

“So, we can provide more effective feedback from the ground,” he told Bernama after the 23rd ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meeting-ASEAN-BAC Consultation in Kuala Lumpur.

Earlier, it was reported that FMM had called for closer engagement with ASEAN-BAC on supply chain matters.

Among its proposals was the establishment of ASCCC, a dedicated regional coordinating body to oversee policies, trends and challenges, bringing together agencies and the private sector while addressing geopolitical and economic shocks.
