ASEAN, CPTPP To Dialogue In November, Explore Collaboration Opportunities

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 (Bernama) -- ASEAN and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) will hold a formal dialogue on Nov 20, 2025, to explore potential areas of collaboration.
Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz said the formal dialogue was agreed upon during a discussion among ministers at the 57th ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) meeting here.
“We will discuss some of the potential areas of collaboration and cooperation to move forward. The discussion will start with senior officials first,” he told a press conference.
CPTPP is a free trade agreement signed by 12 countries, namely Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam.
Four of the 10 ASEAN member countries, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam, are CPTPP pact members.
