NEW DELHI, Oct 12 (Bernama) -- About 2,000 people attended "ASEAN Bazaar", a showcase of Southeast Asian culture and cuisine, at the High Commission of Malaysia in New Delhi.

They included members of the city's diplomatic corps, ASEAN community, Indian officials, students and families.

The ASEAN diplomatic missions set up stalls to present the diverse range of regional food, beverages and handicrafts.

The event on Saturday also featured various performances of traditional music and dances from the member countries.

Malaysia's hosting of "ASEAN Bazaar 2025" coincides with the country's ASEAN chairmanship, with the theme of "inclusivity and sustainability", Malaysian High Commissioner to India Datuk Muzafar Shah Mustafa said in his remarks.

He highlighted ASEAN's cultural richness, economic integration and the bloc's growing relations with India.

"Today, we are not just celebrating food and culture. We are celebrating what makes our region truly unique, our diversity, our creativity and our strong sense of community," Muzafar said.

Lauding ASEAN's strengthening relationship with India, he said there is a wide scope for the two sides to collaborate in areas such as green energy, digital technologies and sustainable development.
