China’s Vice Premier He Lifeng Arrives In Malaysia For 47th ASEAN Summit

SEPANG, Oct 24 (Bernama) -- Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng touched down in Malaysia late Friday to attend the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, which will be held from Oct 26 to 28 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
The special aircraft carrying He and his delegation landed at the Bunga Raya Complex of the KL International Airport here at 11.15 pm.
Yesterday, the international media reported that the United States (US) and China will hold the fifth round of high-level trade talks this weekend in Kuala Lumpur to pave the way for a meeting between the presidents of the world's two largest economies.
The talks will involve the US delegation led by Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and the Chinese delegation headed by He.
Malaysia, as ASEAN Chair 2025, will be hosting over 30 world leaders, including those from the ASEAN region, the United States, China, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, to deepen engagement and cooperation while addressing various regional and global issues of mutual concern.
Leaders from world bodies such as the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) are also scheduled to attend the high-profile regional meetings.
