CAMBODIA

1.MAJORITY DISPLACED PEOPLE RETURN HOME -- FRESH NEWS 

The Interior Ministry said that 82 per cent of over 640,000 displaced persons have returned to their homes following the ceasefire agreement signed last month. The remaining 116,779 displaced persons continue to reside in displacement camps.

 

2.RUSSIAN AID FOR CONFLICT-HIT FAMILIES -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE 

Russia continued to provide humanitarian assistance to those affected by the border conflict between Cambodia and Thailand. Its embassy in Phnom Penh donated basic household items to the Cambodian Red Cross, its third donation. 

 

MYANMAR

1.BRIEFING FOR FOREIGN ELECTION OBSERVERS -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

The government held a briefing session for foreign election observers yesterday, ahead of the third phase of the elections, which is being held today. Officials explained the preparations and the objective of the multiparty democratic general election.

 

2.RUSSIA SENDS SUNFLOWER OIL AS AID -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

Russia dispatched 250 metric tonnes of sunflower oil to Myanmar as humanitarian aid. The sunflower oil fortified with vitamins A and D was donated through the World Food Programme in Yangon.

1.PUTIN CONGRATULATES VIETNAMESE LEADERSHIP -- VIETNAMPLUS

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated To Lam after he was re-elected as the party’s general secretary at the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Lam reaffirmed that Russia is a close partner in Europe.

 

2.EMPOWERING STATE-OWNED ENTERPRISES -- VIETNAMPLUS

The Politburo issued a resolution to restructure state-owned enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City by 2030. There are 50 state-owned enterprises in the country, considered among the largest in Southeast Asia.

1. SOCIAL MEDIA FLOODS WITH 'LISA' RED LOTUS SEA MEMES; TAT SAYS IMAGE IS REAL, NOT AI -- THE NATION

Thailand’s Tourism Authority (TAT) said it has no issue with social media users creating memes from the image of global star Lalisa “Lisa” Manoban at the Red Lotus Sea in Udon Thani, and confirmed that the image currently circulating was produced from an actual shoot and was not created using AI.
