The Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia plans to organise a Cambodia–Japan Business Forum to promote Japanese investment. Japanese investors are eyeing Cambodia as a competitive and promising destination.

 

2.DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF TOURISM SECTOR -- FRESH NEWS

The Pacific Asia Travel Association Cambodia Chapter and Sourceamax Asia Co Ltd will jointly promote digital transformation in the tourism sector. The international services company will support Cambodia’s tourism promotion, international market outreach, and responsible digital advancement.

1.INDONESIA, JAPAN PUSH RESEARCH COOPERATION THROUGH BRIN PARTNERSHIP -- ANTARA

Indonesia’s National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) has partnered with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and international research networks to strengthen the country's research ecosystem through expanded global collaboration.

 

2.INDONESIA TO EXPORT PREMIUM RICE FOR HAJJ PILGRIMS IN SAUDI ARABIA -- ANTARA

The Indonesian government has announced plans to export 2,280 tons of premium rice to Saudi Arabia to meet the consumption needs of around 200,000 Indonesian pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj season.

1.CAMBODIA-LAOS-VIETNAM TO DEVELOP BORDER AREAS -- VIENTIANE TIMES 

Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam have pledged to develop their border areas, promote trade and tourism, and improve people’s livelihoods. Priority areas include accelerating the construction of road and rail links, energy cooperation and economic integration.

 

2.LAO-UAE TO BOLSTER CYBERSECURITY -- VIENTIANE TIMES 

Laos and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will establish an ASEAN digital and artificial intelligence centre to improve cybersecurity and support safer online business and state services. Stakeholders from both countries signed an agreement to speed up the initiative. 

 

MYANMAR 

 

1.NEW TRADE CORRIDOR TO ENHANCE FARM EXPORTS -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

Myanmar and Thailand are set to establish Tachilek-Mae Sai as a transit corridor to enhance connectivity. This initiative will ease the export of 16 products from Myanmar to Thailand, including maize, black gram, sesame, green gram and rice.

 

2.INDIA SUPPORTS SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

India is providing advanced laboratory equipment to Myanmar’s education sector to promote bilateral cooperation in the education field. Modern equipment, scientific research materials and supporting software will be provided to the Naypyitaw State Academy.
