CAMBODIA

1. SIEM REAP AMONG ASIA’S TOP CULTURAL DESTINATIONS -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE 

Siem Reap province has been ranked fifth among Asia’s Best Cultural Destinations for 2026 by Tripadvisor, a travel platform. The world-famous Angkor Archaeological Park and Angkor Thom royal city are the major tourist attractions. 

 

2. TURKIYE’S CONCERN FOR BORDER CONFLICT -- FRESH NEWS 

Turkiye has expressed concern over the border dispute between Cambodia and Thailand, hoping both governments will soon reach an amicable solution. Cambodia has also shown interest in strengthening its bilateral ties with Turkiye.

1. INDONESIA'S BRIN CLARIFIES CAUSE OF LARGE HOLE IN CENTRAL ACEH -- ANTARA

Indonesia's National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) clarified on Saturday that a large hole in a village in Central Aceh, Aceh, was caused by a landslide, not a sinkhole.

 

2. INDONESIA-RUSSIA BOOST HIGHER EDUCATION TIES VIA BMSTU COLLABORATION -- ANTARA

The Indonesian Higher Education, Science, and Technology Ministry met a delegation from Bauman Moscow State Technical University (BMSTU), Russia, to strengthen higher education and research cooperation in Jakarta on Thursday (Feb 19).

 

MYANMAR 

1. DALA BRIDGE MAJOR ROUTE FOR COMMUTERS - - THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

The Yangon Region Public Transport Committee said nearly 10,000 bus commuters are crossing the Myanmar-Korea Friendship (Dala) Bridge daily. Authorities have deployed 30 buses to serve the route due to rising demand. 

 

2. NATIONAL CARRIER DAMAGED IN DRONE ATTACK -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

A Myanmar National Airlines passenger aircraft suffered minor damage from a suicide drone attack at the Myitkyina Airport in Kachin State. The plane was preparing to depart for Mandalay when the incident happened on February 20.

1. 3 WEATHER SYSTEMS TO BRING RAINS OVER PARTS OF PH -- PHILIPPINE NEWS AGENCY (PNA)

The shear line, northeast monsoon or "amihan", and easterlies will bring rains over parts of the country, the weather bureau said Sunday.

Malacañang has denied a circulating report claiming that a convoy involving a “presidential son” was harassed by another group of vehicles allegedly registered in Bulacan.

1. DBS TO IMPOSE 12-HOUR COOLING PERIOD FOR RAISING DAILY TRANSFER LIMITS, ADDING NEW RECIPIENTS -- CNA

From Mar 7, DBS digital banking users will need to wait for 12 hours before they can increase their transfer limits or add a new payee, as part of security measures to combat "increasingly sophisticated" scams, the bank said on Friday.

1. MAJOR BOOST TO ELECTRIC MOTORBIKE PRODUCTION -- VIETNAMPLUS

Vietnam’s electric vehicle producer Yadea will inaugurate a RM390 million (US$100 million) electric motorbike manufacturing plant in Bac Ninh province on March 1. The factory will support growing demand for electric two-wheelers.

 

2. HANOI BUSTLING WITH NEW YEAR TOURISTS -- VIETNAMPLUS

Hanoi is estimated to welcome about 1.34 million travellers during the nine-day Lunar New Year holiday from February 14 to 22. About 217,000 foreign tourists and 1.13 million domestic travellers visited the capital city during this period.
