INDONESIA 

1. NO COUNTRY EXCLUDED FROM INDONESIA'S RESOURCE EXPORTS POLICY: MINISTER -- ANTARA

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated that no country will be excluded from the newly introduced policy on Indonesian natural resource exports, carried out by PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI).

 

2. GOVT TO RECRUIT 3,000 TEACHERS, 5,000 STAFF FOR FREE SCHOOL PROGRAM -- ANTARA

The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs reaffirmed the government’s readiness to recruit more than 3,000 teachers and 5,000 support staff for the operations of the tuition-free Sekolah Rakyat (People’s School) program across 93 locations.

1. CAPITAL’S GROWTH AGENDA OUTLINED -- VIENTIANE TIMES

Vientiane’s Socio-Economic Development Plan for 2026-2030 includes political stability, economic self-reliance, infrastructure development, and improvements in living standards. The plan will also support Laos’ graduation from Least Developed Country status.

 

2. ADVANCING REGIONAL ENERGY OUTPUT -- VIENTIANE TIMES

Laos and Cambodia signed an agreement to conduct a feasibility study on a cross-border power grid. It is to advance the ASEAN Power Grid initiative under the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation for 2026-2030.

The Department of Social Welfare is urging senior citizens aged 85 and above to register for their pension. About 150,000 people in the category are currently enjoying the social benefit.
