LAOS

1.UPGRADING MINING INDUSTRY -- VIENTIANE TIMES 

A mineral inspection, analysis and quality certification system has been established at 32 export checkpoints. This is to strengthen the oversight of mineral exports, improve transparency and boost state revenue from the mining industry.

 

2.ONLINE SYSTEM TO MODERNISE AGRI SECTOR -- VIENTIANE TIMES 

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has introduced the online Agro-Link system to modernise the management of agricultural imports and exports. The system will improve data management, transparency, and reduce processing times.

1.EASY E -WITHDRAWAL FOR PENSIONERS -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

Myanma Economic Bank announced that pension card holders can withdraw cash from its 190 branches without a service charge. All its branches are now equipped with a centralised e-Pension system.

 

2.ICRC REACHES OUT TO DISABLED COMMUNITY -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is assisting thousands of people with disabilities through seven physical rehabilitation centres. ICRC and its partner organisations provide prosthetic services, wheelchairs, assistive devices, walking aids and physiotherapy.
