MYANMAR

 

1.REVIVING COTTON CULTIVATION -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

The government announced plans to revive declining cotton production by allocating key resources to transform it into a key crop in the agriculture sector. Water for irrigation will be supplied by the solar-powered river pumping project.

 

2.MINOR EARTHQUAKES HIT BAGO, MANDALAY -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR  

Two minor earthquakes struck Bago and Mandalay regions yesterday. An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale struck Bago in the afternoon, followed by a 4.0-magnitude earthquake that was recorded in Mandalay.

 

INDONESIA 

 

1.RI TO LAUNCH ONE-PERCENT SAF BLEND ON INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS BY 2027 -- ANTARA

The Ministry of Transportation said the initial implementation of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) with a one percent bioavtur blend will focus on international flights operating from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, and I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali.  

 

2.GOV'T NAMES CAVES WITH WORLD'S OLDEST PAINTING AS NATIONAL HERITAGE -- ANTARA

The Ministry of Culture has designated the Liangkabori and Liang Metanduno caves, which hold the world's oldest cave painting, in Muna Island, Muna District, Southeast Sulawesi, as national heritage.

1.14 NATIONS MARK 10 YRS OF SOUTH CHINA SEA RULING -- PHILIPPINE NEWS AGENCY A coalition of 14 countries marked the 10th anniversary of the landmark arbitral ruling on the South China Sea (SCS) on Sunday, reaffirming that the decision remains legally binding. 

 

2.10 YEARS ON, PHILIPPINES’ ARBITRAL WIN REMAINS ANCHOR FOR WEST PHILIPPINE SEA RIGHTS -- PHILIPPINE NEWS AGENCY  The National Maritime Council (NMC) on Sunday said the 2016 South China Sea arbitral ruling remains the country's strongest legal foundation for defending its rights in the West Philippine Sea, as it urged continued adherence to international law amid persistent tensions in the disputed waters.

The inter-agency task force that is studying ways to better support people with disabilities and their families will announce its recommendations by the end of 2026, the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) said on Sunday
